The Product

What is Comcork
cork flooring?

Comcork is Australian-made cork flooring composed of 70% natural cork granules and 30% rubber by volume, heat-pressed into sheets and tiles. No harmful chemicals. No complicated compounds. Two proven materials that absorb impact, reduce noise, resist slips, and last for years. 70%natural cork content by volume

Why Cork?

Cork is harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without harming the tree. It regenerates every 9 years. Naturally antimicrobial, hypoallergenic, and an exceptional carbon store. Every square metre of Comcork locks carbon away.

Why Rubber?

Rubber provides the backbone: exceptional resilience, superior slip resistance even when wet, and the kind of durability that commercial environments demand. It bounces back from heavy foot traffic, trolleys, and chair castors.

How It's Made

Manufactured in Victoria, Australia. Cork granules and rubber crumb are heat-pressed together under high pressure. No harmful VOCs. The result is a dense, dimensionally stable sheet or tile.

What It Feels Like

Warm underfoot with a subtle give. Nothing like cold, hard tile or vinyl. Walk on it and you immediately notice two things: it's quieter, and it's more comfortable. Staff on their feet all day will thank you.

The Commercial Case

Why Facility Managers
Choose Comcork Cork Flooring

01

Slip Resistance

Tested and certified to Australian Standards. Comcork's rubber content provides inherent wet and dry slip resistance, reducing your liability exposure from slips, trips, and falls across lobbies, corridors, and amenities.

02

Acoustic Performance

Measurably reduces impact noise transmission. In open-plan offices, lobbies, and corridors, Comcork dampens footfall, trolley wheels, and dropped objects. Your tenants and staff notice the difference immediately.

03

Durability

10-year warranty in high-traffic commercial environments. This isn't decorative flooring. It's working flooring, engineered to withstand the daily reality of chairs, trolleys, foot traffic, and cleaning regimes.

04

Easy Maintenance

Simple cleaning regime with standard commercial products. We recommend periodically sealing the floors, a straightforward process that brings them back to as-new condition and keeps them looking sharp for the long haul.

05

Sustainability Compliance

Global GreenTag Level C certified with a verified negative carbon footprint (-1.3 kg CO₂-e per kg produced). Supports ESG reporting, Green Star ratings, and NABERS benchmarks.

06

Fire Retardant

Meets fire safety requirements for commercial interiors. Comcork's composition provides inherent fire resistance without the need for chemical flame retardant treatments.

The Carbon Story

Every kilogram of Comcork removes 1.3 kg of CO₂ from the atmosphere.

Cork oak trees absorb carbon dioxide as they grow. The cork bark is harvested by hand without killing the tree. It regenerates every nine years, absorbing even more CO₂ as it regrows. That stored carbon carries directly into the flooring product.

Under NGER (National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting) methodology, Comcork's cradle-to-gate carbon footprint is just Under NGER (National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting) methodology, Comcork's cradle-to-gate carbon footprint is just 1.0 to 1.6 kg CO₂-e per kg.
